frequently asked questions

  • Attending a general class is not always for everybody, especially if you have been dealing with consistent injury, back pain or other pain issues or even a sedentary lifestyle.

In this case I would recommend you chat about your situation with me first, as a Yoga Therapy Session, specifically tailored for you, may be the best approach.

Yoga should always feel good, so let me show you what I mean by that.

  • Absolutely not! Flexibility is but a cherry on the top and not a prerequisite to practice. What we want to do is move all the joints in the body in all possible directions comfortably and as a result of this the body becomes more flexible. Finding the right Yoga for you may be important especially if you've been sedentary or injured. But, no matter what your starting point, if you have the enthusiasm to try, doing the right practice for you, then the results of your practice will be delightfully experienced, including more flexibility. Please let me know if you would like to book a Therapy Session.

  • Our beginners classes and retreats are a great way to start. We keep a connection to earth through the starter poses. As we move through and develop confidence there are many options along the way. The class moves slow to allow space to take your time until you get used to using the sling. You will quickly see improvement, even in the first class and with subsequent classes, a sense of satisfaction when you find you can do what you thought you couldn't. If you're still not sure, then get in touch so we can chat. You can always do a private class with me, tailored just for you.

  • Yoga pants or soft relaxed pants with a cuff at the ankels so they stay in place. Wear a well fitted T-shirt to cover armpits. We move around a lot using the sling so avoid anything that can get “caught up”. Wear socks (unless its hot summer) and avoid zippers, makeup and jewellery so we can protect the slings and keep them clean.
